Born Jason Joseph Barker in Middletown, Ohio, Jason grew up in Alvin, Texas just outside of Houston. He got into theatre at the age of 11 taking theatre arts classes in junior high and doing summer children's theatre at the local community college. He was cast in his first major role as Claudius in an abridged version of Hamlet in the 8th grade. Jason continued with theatre and acting through out high school and college playing such roles as Oberon in a Midsummer Night's Dream and Lloyd Dallas in Noises Off! He earned a B.F.A. in Theatre with an emphasis in acting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. After graduation, Jason lived, worked, and acted in Houston and Austin taking private classes, doing student and independent films, and doing extra work on several feature films including The Return and Infamous.

Jason relocated to New York in September 2005 and joined The Actor's Project NYC, shortly thereafter participating in industry showcases and one-act plays presented at the Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre. He also began working with Winceyco Productions taking educational programs dealing with such material as African American history and women's rights to local schools in New York and New Jersey.

Jason is a proud member of AFTRA and has worked as a background performer several times on One Life to Live and was featured background in the pilot of Light's Out. He has acted in the ensembles of several Off-Off Broadway productions including: The Best Party Ever at the Richmond Shepard Theatre, Naked Holidays NYC with Endtimes Productions, and the play, Danny, with The Planet Connections Festivity.

Jason most recently has been doing stand up at Carolines on Broadway and several other locations throughout the city. He is also a part-time staff member at Paul Michael's The Network where he is continuing to take classes and seek representation.
